Hypothesis of the mechanism of obesity leading to chronic disease
Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 3
Abstract
With the development of society, obesity is becoming more and more common, and the incidence of chronic diseases is also increasing, which brings heavy burden to the country and the general public. There are many kinds of chronic diseases, and their treatment methods are different, but there are similarities in their occurrence and development. From the perspective of holistic integrative medicine, this paper proposed the hypothesis of the mechanism of obesity leading to chronic diseases based on neuroendocrine, energy metabolism, inflammatory immune response and other mechanisms, and put forward the theory of obesity intervention as the starting point to reduce chronic diseases under the concept of “preventing disease”.
