IDENTIFICATION OF THE CUMULATIVE EFFECT OF ANTI-SEIZURE AND ANTI-WEAR ADDITIVES ON THE LIMITING PRESSURE OF SEIZURE
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2015, Vol 260, Issue 2
Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the limiting pressure of seizure changes caused by simultaneous addition of anti-seizure and anti-wear additives to mineral oil, which was the base of the lubricating composition. The analysis was performed based on the experimental results of the studies performed under accepted experimental methods. The tribological tests were conducted with the use of a four-ball apparatus. The main objective of the analysis was to identify the effect of the simultaneous impact of EP and AW additives on resistance to seizure. In the research results, it was proved that AW additive, in practice, does not influenced seizure while the EP additive plays a dominant role.
