Abstract
The article deals with the problem of social evil in the work of Albert Camus. It is noted that the philosopher identified the theme of evil as the everyday reality of the human life, noted that the ethics of man is initially absurd, because a man cannot control his life. The article reveals the image of social evil as the superiors of the ruler; denotes the dangers of social evil in the philosophy of A. Camus; the peculiarities of the dichotomy of evil in the work of the philosopher are distinguished, proceeding from the thesis of Camus "evil is a lack of good"; the Christian component of the understanding of evil in the work of the philosopher is studied. In the article it is determined that the only means of combating evil is evil itself, and therefore the evil only increases. It is pointed out that the main outline of the dichotomy of evil in the work of A. Camus is the question of a person's life and death, when a person's confidence is reduced only to the only true knowledge, the knowledge that he will definitely die. The article reveals the image of the social evil and the logic of its justification in the actions of the person having power (Caligula), and the person striving for power (Stepan). Social evil is possible in the freedom of human activity. It is proved that evil in the philosophy of A. Camus is a consequence of a lack of good. Attention is drawn to anti-Christian motives in the work of the philosopher. It is concluded that the evil in A. Camus's theory breaks up into a number of components, manifesting itself in devaluation of the today’s person for the name of the idea of a happy future man, fighting for the illusion of good, protest against the nature of impossibility, concluded first of all in the secrets of life and death, the inability of the Christian ideals of good to incarnate on earth.
