Impact of Social Capital on Knowledge Management in Organizations

Abstract

According to researches, a fundamental of social capital claims that the larger community in which a business organisation is embedded is a source of capital. On the other hand knowledge management has recently emerged as a key research topic in the most of organization. This paper presents a conceptual model that explains that the social capital of an organization can shapes the innovation performance of medium organization.Truly, paper developed a conceptual model withthe aim to improve understanding of the mechanisms for knowledge transfer. To test our model, a dataset is used that they have been gathered we through a questionnaire survey of 135knowledge workers from three organisations. According to result, at theinterpersonal level of analysis, the effective transfer of knowledge hinges upon theextent to which individuals share a common lexicon for communication and trust eachother, both professionally and personally.
