Improved Spatial Scalability For Video Compression
Journal Title: Acta Technica Napocensis- Electronica-Telecomunicatii (Electronics and Telecommunications) - Year 2012, Vol 53, Issue 1
Abstract
Spatial scalability (layering) in MPEG is not often used due to the lack of coding efficiency and available ICs. This work presents an alternative spatial scalability schemes that have better coding efficiency, and yet are relatively easy to implement with existing building blocks. Furthermore it presents experiments that have been conducted in order to improve the coding efficiency, and enable a backwards compatible HDTV DVD system. Attempts have been made to improve the spatial scalability of MPEG-2/MPEG-4.

Safe Pre-Pass Software Bypassing for Transport Triggered Processors
The Transport Triggered Architecture is an architectural style where the internal transport buses of a processor are exposed in the instruction set. Since software has full control over data transports, data can be direc...
An Experimental Architecture For Basic IPTV Concepts Implementation and Testing
The paper describes basic concepts and a practical implementation of a simple architecture for IPTV content creation and distribution. The architecture is conceived to make possible extensive tests. Audio-video content i...
Illustration Of Automatic Digital Synthesis For Camellia-128 Cipher Algorithm
Advances in the integrated circuit (IC) industry have enabled the integration of millions of transistors on a single chip. In these circumstances the task of the circuit designer is ever more demanding. Recent trends in...
Retrieving Call Detail Records from Asterisk using SNMP
Several SNMP agents could be integrated by IETF’s AgentX protocol which separates the communication with SNMP manager in two parts: AgentX between sub-agents and master agent, and SNMP between master agent and manager. T...
An Affordable Approach For Extending The SDR Concept Over X Microwaves Radio Band
In this paper several technical solutions are proposed to extend SDR technology to X microwave band, at low cost. This extension requires a hardware combination of modules, most of them readily available on market from c...
