Abstract

This action research aims to implement the school's reading intervention program designed by the researcher to enhance the reading proficiency levels of the intermediate multi-grade learners of Olag Pequeño Elementary School based on their reading profile for the school year 2022-2023. Furthermore, "Improving Communication Skills of Intermediate Multi-grade Learners in Olag Pequeno Elementary School through Oral Language and Vocabulary Readiness (OLaVoR)," aims to enhance literacy among students transitioning from remote learning to face-to-face classes post-pandemic. Implemented weekly, it targets MG Classes in the intermediate level to prepare students for academic success. Project TURO focuses on reading proficiency, utilizing diagnostic tools and modified instructional materials. "Hear it, Say it!" aids pronunciation and vocabulary through listening and speaking exercises during remedial classes. "Write it, Right?" emphasizes storytelling, vocabulary acquisition, and context clues exploration during weekly sessions. " #ICanSeeYou" promotes oral communication by describing images and objects using Filipino or English, fostering peer interaction and text analysis. Lastly, "InTONEation" hones proper tone and intonation through daily sentence recitation, aiming to improve communication skills for everyday use. These structured interventions address the specific needs of intermediate multi-grade learners, facilitating their academic growth and communication proficiency.
