IMPROVING OF POLICY ON MULTINATIONAL BANKS’ ACTIVITIES REGULATION

Abstract
The article deals with world experience in regulating multinational banks’ activities. The preconditions for reorientation from the policy of liberalization of multinational banking activity to the policy of strengthening its regulation are generalized. A wide range of possible measures of preventing excessive lending expansion of multinational banks and mitigation its negative consequences for the economy of the host countries are considered; their levels, advantages and disadvantages, the potential consequences and limitations are identified. Changes and clarifications are proposed in order to improve the database of the Bank for International Settlements. The necessity for further developments in the regulation of the activities of multinational banks in line with the development trends of the world economy was emphasized.
