Industrial Noise Mapping – Support of an Anti-Noise Protection Program
Journal Title: Romanian Journal of Acoustics and Vibration - Year 2011, Vol 8, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper shows an approach to noise problems for an installation belonging to a complex industrial plant, containing noise sources located at different heights. A proper digital modeling of the relevant elements in terms of noise – sources with characteristics, barriers, soil absorption characteristics, receptors, is useful in assessing noise levels both in the environment and workplace, and also in noise reduction. In this paper, after a digital model was developed for a petrochemical plant installation, noise maps are made for three different heights based on ISO 9613:2006. After that, the way information from noise maps could be used in a study on noise exposure in working place according to EN ISO 9612:2009, is presented.

On the Vibrations with Seismic Excitation of the Rigid Elastically Hanged
Consider the rigid solid elastically hanged with large arrows to balance. Rigid matrix is established, which in this case depends on the values of the arrows to balance. In the case of seismic excitation (through basis)...
Dynamic Design of the Foundation of Reciprocating Machines for Offshore Installations in Persian Gulf
The installation of large and heavy reciprocating machines on offshore constructions demands specific requirements in the design of the foundation with respect to vibrations. Because the use of those piston engines impli...
Friction Pendulum Dampers for Earthquake Isolated Structural Systems
Base isolation systems have become a significant element of a structural system to enhance reliability during an earthquake. One type of base isolation system is Friction Pendulum Dampers in which the superstructure is i...
Experimental Investigation of the Reverberation Time Inside a Complex Geometry Indoor Space
The paper outlines the interest towards reverberation time which is an acoustic parameter that can influence how a speech is perceived in different parts of a room. If for a rectangular shaped rooms Sabine’s formulas are...
Construction Equipment Noise Level Decreasing Coefficient – ΔL - Evaluation
The task of this work is the acoustic absorption coefficient variation study of sound absorbing structures and materials. Three construction equipments have been considered according to their different cabin design. Diff...
