Influence of fly-ashes on properties of ordinary concretes
Journal Title: Annals of Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW. Land Reclamation - Year 2016, Vol 48, Issue 1
Abstract
Care of the environment in accordance with the principles of sustainable development introduces the possibility and need for waste recycling. The construction and building materials industry has the greatest potential for reuse of waste. The article presents the results of investigations of selected properties (consistency, water absorbability, compressive strength and tensile strength after 28 and 56 days of curing, depth of penetration) of ordinary concretes and concretes containing fly-ashes – calcareous and siliceous ash − in their composition. To make the samples, the Portland cement CEM I 42.5 R and natural aggregate with graining of 0–16 mm were used. The concrete with siliceous and calcareous admixtures was made in three lots where the ash was added in the quantity of 15, 20 and 30% of the cement mass. After the tests, it was stated that the fly-ash admixture does not increase the air content in the mix, it increases the compressive strength in time and the siliceous ash improves the splitting tensile strength.

Undrained shear strength of the heavily consolidated clay
The undrained shear strength cu is considered one of the most basic parameter characterizing soils in engineering practice. The particular importance of cu is in the case of clayey soil. This parameter also is the basis...
On the influence of overconsolidation effect on the compressibility assessment of subsoli by means of CPTU and DMT
The paper contains the analysis of the influence of overconsolidation effect on the values of constrained moduli, assumed by means of two most popular in situ advanced tests. The tested soils included two geological form...
Turbulent kinetic energy of water in a compound channel
The aim of the experimental research was the determination of water turbulent kinetic energy changes in a compound channel without and with rigid, emergent ,vegetation existing on floodplains. Two tests for two various r...
Wpływ stabilizacji cementem na właściwości mechaniczne zagęszczonego gruntu spoistego – iłu piaszczystego
Stabilizacja gruntów cementem pozwala na zastosowanie słabych gruntów spoistych np. iłu piaszczystego w konstrukcjach inżynierskich takich jak nasypy albo podłoże gruntowe konstrukcji drogowych. Grunty stabilizowane wyko...
Identification of vegetation parameters for compound channel discharge as inverse problem
In recent years many sophisticated models for discharge capacity of compound channels with vegetation have been developed. Despite the mature state of knowledge in this field, in a practice the simplest methods prevail a...
