INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN THE STUDY PROCESS AND APPLIED RESEARCH WORK OF CARRIAGE TRANSPORT SERVICES

Abstract
This article analyses the application of information technologies in the study process and applied research work. Study is based on students from “Vilnius College of Technologies and Design” opinions and the work they have done. We questioned students from the three study programs. In the “Vilnius College of Technologies and Design” students currently are enrolled in three degree programs that are made for carriage transport services: • Transport Logistics; • Road transport management; • Road transport technology. The paper analyses the survey data and presents applied research work that is carried out in conjunction with the student and lecturer. It summarises students' need for a variety of information technologies' applications within studies. The research problem: how to apply information technology in the study programs of “Vilnius College of Technologies and Design” that are made carriage transport services and applied in research work. The aim: to investigate the information technology application possibilities in the study process and research, when based on the students' views and their work. The tasks: • to analyse the data from social research that is made to apply information technology in the educational process; • to summarise the students' experience of research; • to analyse the problems that students show within the use of information technology in the study process; • information technology applications and research summary. The research object: student experience when applying information technologies and students' opinion about their readiness to apply information technologies in work. The research methods: social research methods, such as questionnaire survey, data analysis, data identification with the facts available.
