Inhalatory proszkowe – czy są optymalne dla chorych na astmę?

Abstract
Dry powder inhalers (DPIs) underwent a turbulent history, from setbacks to success. Since the Montreal convention and the removal of Freon, an aerosol propellant, from medicinal products, a tremendous increase of interest in DPIs is seen. Since the introduction of Spinhaler, new generators have been introduced - Rotahaler, Discus, Turbuhaler, Aerolizer, Handihaler, Twisthaler, Exubera (the only active DPI). Easyhaler was only recently added to this big number of DPIs. Its unique construction allows patient to inhale reproducible, constant doses almost irrespective of the generated flow through the device. This allows this device to be used safely and efficaciously by patients, including those with asthma exacerbations. ............................... Inhalatory suchego proszku (DPI) z chwilą ich wprowadzenia do powszechnego użytku przeżywały swoje wzloty i upadki. Od roku 1987 obserwujemy ogromny rozwój inhalatorów suchego proszku. Lawino rośnie liczba nowych generatorów aerozoli oraz nowych molekuł w postaci suchego proszku do inhalacji. Kolejno pojawiają się Rotahaler, Dysk, Turbuhaler, Diskhaler z zanamivir – lekiem przeciwwirusowym, Aerolizer, Handihaler, Twisthaler, Exubera – pierwszy aktywny inhalator z insuliną, Flexhaler, Certihaler, Pohaler, Ellipta, Afrezza. Do grupy tej dołączył stosunkowo niedawno również inhalator Easyhaler. Jego unikalna konstrukcja pozwala chorym zainhalować się powtarzalna dawkę niezależnie od generowanego przepływu. Tym samym inhalator ten jest bezpieczny i możliwy do stosowania u chorych z znaczną obturacja dróg oddechowych.
