Innovations in life insurance – the Bulgarian market and what to expect

Abstract

Innovation is a modern word at the moment. Most experts are saying that companies which develop innovation will have competitive advantage. Financial system is not an exclusion. Banks are leading in this process, second are non-bank lenders, after that are asset management, leasing, insurance industry and pension funds. In the two types of insurance, non-life and life insurance, the trend of innovations are with different pace. The paper deals with the potential innovations in life insurance – types, examples, financial effects. Addressed are issues like the situation in the Bulgarian market, the tendencies and what we can expect.
