INTENSIFICATION OF THE FORCED COOLING OF THE FRICTION PAIRS OF THE BAND-BLOCK BRAKES OF DRAW-WORKS
Journal Title: Проблеми тертя та зношування - Year 2016, Vol 73, Issue
Abstract
The friction pairs of the band-block brake are washed by longitudinal and transverse air flows during forced cooling at electric thermal mechanical friction. Air flow affects at the longitudinal circulation of the air in the gap between friction pairs, that are able to change direction and speed of the air flow that doesn’t intensify the exchange of air and, consequently, doesn’t increase efficiency of forced cooling of friction pairs of band-block brake. Based on the above, we’ve offered a longitudinal-transverse scheme of forced air cooling of the rim of brake pulley to reduce its energy loading. In the article we’ve considered various schemes of the air flowing of the friction pairs of band-block brake washer assemblies air band-shoe brakes and we’ve made assessment of their effectiveness. We’ve substantiated the necessity of the application of the combined pro-longitudinal-transverse air change in the composite brake pulley, as the most effective. We’ve consider the following questions: forced air washing of the surfaces of the nodes of the friction units of the band-block brakes: outdoor; internal; energy balance of air flows which are cooling the outer surfaces of the brake parts; the thermal-loading of the elements of the friction units of the band-block brakes of draw-works.
