Intensive care unit upper respiratory tract myiasis – a case report.

Abstract
Nosocomial myiasis is a rare event on ICU in developed countries. The paper presents a case of myasis caused by larvae of facultative myiasis agent – the blowfly Lucilia sericata. Insertion of a nasogastric tube and presence of blood and purulent drainage were main risk factors in this case. After removal of larvae there was no further implication of myiasis fort he patient.
