Interlocutive management of the social image of Dominican migrant women in Comodoro Rivadavia

Abstract
Based on the framework of Sociocultural Pragmatics, this article presents an approach to the problematic of the interpersonal and collaborative construction of the social image of the Dominican migrant women residing in Comodoro Rivadavia, province of Chubut, in the Argentine Republic. Through the analysis of a fragment of a group interview -in which the issue of discrimination is addressed-, the mechanisms of interlocutive image management are identified, as well as a description and an interpretation of the contents of group images and roles, in its double dimension: autonomy and affiliation. The results of this work are a substantial contribution to an ongoing research that -from the Critical Discourse Studies- approaches the social representations on stigmatization and resistance in the identity construction of this community of migrants.
