Inverted papilloma of the nasal cavity and the paranasal sinuses

Abstract
Inverted papilloma (papilloma inversum) is a rare, benign, an epithelial tumor of uncertain etiology with a characteristic histologic feature. The primary location of neoplasm is usually the lateral nasal wall. Inverted papilloma is characterized by locally aggressive growth, high recurrence rate and possibility of malignancy. Inverted papilloma is treated only with surgery. Radical resection of the tumor is absolutely indispensable – now traditional methods of open resection and endoscopic techniques are employed.
