Investigation of design features of compressor casing treatment
Journal Title: Archive of Mechanical Engineering - Year 2014, Vol 0, Issue 1
Abstract
Casing treatment in the form of circumferential grooves over a rotor blade tips is used for improvement of an axial compressor performance. Usually, these grooves extend compressor’s stall range (stable operational range) but decrease its efficiency. In the paper, there are presented main results of investigations on grooves that influence positively efficiency of compressor. There were investigated traditional (typical) and newly developed groove configurations. Certain grooves combine increase in efficiency with extension in stall range.

Semi-analytical solution of functionally graded circular short hollow cylinder subject to transient thermal loading
In this paper, by using a semi-analytical solution based on multi-layered approach, the authors present the solutions of temperature, displacements, and transient thermal stresses in functionally graded circular hollow c...
Implementation of a geometric constraint regularization for multibody system models
Redundant constraints in MBS models severely deteriorate the computational performance and accuracy of any numerical MBS dynamics simulation method. Classically this problem has been addressed by means of numerical decom...
Geometric interpretation of a non-linear beam finite element on the Lie group SE(3)
Recently, the authors proposed a geometrically exact beam finite element formulation on the Lie group SE(3). Some important numerical and theoretical aspects leading to a computationally efficient strategy were obtained....
A method of the wear prognosis of sliding bearings
The considerations presented in this paper include a computer analysis of slide bearing wear prognosis using the solutions of recurrence equations complemented with the experimental data values. On the ground of the resu...
Investigation of the stress-strain state of seamless pipe in the initial state
Mechanical properties of the pipeline samples that had been cut in annular and axial directions were investigated. The methodology of modeling and calculation of the real stress-strain state was described. The stable sta...
