Investigation of faults in 0.4 – 10 Kv electrical power network in the šiauliai region

Abstract
In this article the number of faults and interrupted customers, the interruption duration, and fault reasons of 0.4-10 kV grid lines of the Šiauliai region have been investigated. Reliability indicators of the electrical network of the Šiauliai region have been calculated. The analysis of operating data demonstrates that most faults occur in 0.4 kV grid lines, but more customers are interrupted in 10 kV grid lines. Faults elimination duration are twice shorter in 10 kV grid lines compared with 0.4 kV grid lines. Most faults occur in overhead lines both in 0.4 kV and 10 kV grid lines. The main fault reason, operator responsibility, occurs in almost the half of all interruptions. Calculations of reliability indicators demonstrate that mostly the electrical power supply is interrupted for customers in the Kelmė and Raseiniai districts. For the interrupted customer in the Raseiniai district, most electrical power interruptions occur. The average for one interruption duration is longest in the Kelmė district. According to the investigation results, the Kelmė district is the most unreliable district of the Šiauliai region in view of electrical power supply for the customers
