Investigation of Path Analysis in Animal Science
Journal Title: Journal of Agriculture, Food, Environment and Animal Sciences - Year 2022, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
This study examines the causes of the use of Path analysis in Animal Science and the effects of the factors given by calculation methods, which are thought to be effective in calculating, directly and indirectly, milk efficiency. In this study, milk yield data of 100 Holstein which was taken from Cukurova University, Faculty of Agriculture, Research and Application Farm, Dairy Cattle Unit was used. According to the results of the study, the most important factor that directly affects milk efficiency is peak efficiency. It was observed that the age factor has an indirect effect on milk efficiency. According to the path coefficient, peak efficiency has a strong effect on milk efficiency. Age has a moderate effect on milk efficiency. It has been observed that the number of calf intervals and days of milking has a weak effect on milk efficiency.
