Investigation of the Components of Concrete Structures in Terms of Thermal Insulation: A Review
Journal Title: Gazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi Part C: Tasarım ve Teknoloji - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
As one of the most important results of Oil Crisis in 1973 it has been understood that the natural sources are exhaustible and they ought to be consumed efficiently as much as possible. With discussion about Global Warming within the scope of scientific literature since 1980s “Energy Efficiency” became one of the most popular research topics until today. Since the buildings are responsible for 32% of total energy consumption energy efficient design of the building envelopes became more than an issue. As concrete is the most widely used construction material determining its thermal conductivity value by means of different techniques and experimental studies plays key role in energy efficient designing of buildings. Therefore, this study concerns with the evaluation of concrete building elements from thermal insulation viewpoint.

An Investigation of Combustion and Performance Characteristics of a Direct Injection Diesel Engine Fuelled With The Blends of 10% Fish Oil Biodiesel and 90% Diesel Fuel
In the current study, combustion and performance characteristics of a direct injection diesel engine fuelled with the blends of 10% fish oil biodiesel and 90% diesel fuel were investigated experimentally. For this reason...
Processing of 5083 Al-Mg Material with Rolling (Galetage), Investigation of the Effects of Rolling Parameters on Surface Roughness and Surface Hardness
Burnishing process is a post-processing operation used to obtain good surface quality. Burnishing process has some advantages such as increase of surface hardness and decrease of surface roughness on the surface work pie...
Effective Capacity Performance of α-κ-μ Fading Channels
In this work, a closed-form expression is derived for effective capacity of α-κ-μ fading channels. Then, an asymptotic expression is also proposed for the effective capacity of the considered channel model. In addition,...
Measurement of Emission Reduction Which Depend on Trip Change by Modelling with Park and Ride System in Ankara
Park and Ride Systems (P+R) are transfer systems which are located around the city and near the city center that encourage individuals from using passenger cars to public transport to minimize the use of passenger cars d...
A Performance Comparison of Conventional and Transverse Flux Rotating Switched Reluctance Motors
High power and torque densities have been claimed for transverse flux structures over the conventional (radial flux) switched reluctance machine (CSRM) structures in recent publications. A comprehensive comparison betwee...
