Investigation of the Inhibitive Effect of Pyrazolo [3, 4-b] Pyridine on Corrosion of Stainless Steel in 1 M HCl Solutions
Journal Title: Leonardo Electronic Journal of Practices and Technologies - Year 2007, Vol 6, Issue 11
Abstract
The purpose of this study to investigate the effect of pyrazolo [3-4-b] pyridine on the corrosion inhibition of stainless steel in 1.0M hydrochloric acid (HCl) by using the following methods: the weight loss method, the potentiodynamic polarization methods, and the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. It was found that the adsorption of inhibitor could prevent steel from weight loss and the adsorption accorded with the Langmuir adsorption, the corrosion protection could be explained by the adsorption of inhibitor and formation of a protective layer attached to the metal surface.

Post-treatment of Produced Water Before Discharge Using Luffa Cylindrica
Sponge-gourds, the fruit of Luffa cylindrica, are widely used throughout the world. It is an annual climbing crop which produces fruit containing fibrous vascular system. Produced water is any water that is present in a...
Optimal Design of TCR/FC in Electric Arc Furnaces for Power Quality Improvement in Power Systems
Electric Arc Furnaces (EAFs) are unbalanced, nonlinear and time varying loads, which can cause many problems in the power system quality. As the use of arc furnace loads increases in industry, the importance of the power...
Comparative Study of Monolayer Fatty Acids at the Air/Water Interface
The behavior of insoluble monolayer of surfactants spread at the air/water interfaces is frequently studied by recording compression isotherms. The compression isotherms given in terms of surface pressure versus mean mol...
