Irony as a Marker of Dwarfism in Romanticism (Based on Ludwig Tieck’s Drama)
Journal Title: Держава та регіони. Серія: Гуманітарні науки - Year 2018, Vol 54, Issue 3
Abstract
The author of this article analyzed the fairy-tale comedy ‘A Puss in Boots’ by Ludwig Tieck (1797) in order to define the role of ‘scene-within-a-scene’ principle in formation of the ironic style of the text. Particularly, the point was the constant penetration of art into life (and vice versa), which, upon being interpreted by means of theatrical play, would allow a human to look at oneself ‘from the other side’ and therefore to comprehend one’s own place in the social and cultural space.
