Abstract

Managers and employees who have emotional intelligence, can recognize and manage their own emotions, and are sensitive to the feelings, wishes and needs of others, establish relationships based on trust in the workplace. In this respect, employees express their ideas clearly and directly, can mobilize both themselves and the people they work with in a comfortable way for the desired result, maintain high level of motivation by maintaining positive thinking under difficult conditions, and conclude for solution by preserving the positive atmosphere. Therefore, employees with high emotional intelligence have a great role and contribution to the performance of businesses, both based on individual performance and when considered more comprehensively. Considering that employees with emotional intelligence are the most important competitive advantage for companies, the duty of managers is to increase the level of emotional intelligence of employees. In addition, informing the managers about the emotional intelligence or emphasizing the importance of them, especially the human resources department, emphasizing that intelligence quotient level is not sufficient during recruitment and emphasizing that emotional intelligence is important, gaining employees with high emotional intelligence by enterprises will be an important factor in providing competitive advantage.
