ІS THERE DEFINITION OF HUMANITY? POETICS OF MONODRAMAS BY E. GRISHKOVETZ

Abstract
The main purpose of the article is to show E. Grishkovetz's way of thinking about life and human being. In order to do that the author analyses two plays by Grishkovetz: How I have eaten a dog and Simultaneously. The Russian writer, dramatist and actor tries to find definitions of a human being and the mankind, going through what the man can see around him, what exists in this very special world. He finds out that his life consists of rituals and myths. Finally, he says, living in this world is just living, nothing else. That is why he is taken for one of the most intelligent dramatists in contemporary Russia. The article can be treated as a review of the earliest works by Grishkovetz. It can also be a piece of work about thought of life in contemporary Russian philosophy. It can be reproduced in the works about Russian aesthetic views in drama. The monodramas by Grishkovets are strictly connected with the contemporary views on humanity not only in Russia, but also in the west.
