Isobolographic interaction between AO-294, an enantiomer of losigamone, and valproate in the mouse model of maximal electroshock
Journal Title: Journal of Pre-Clinical and Clinical Research - Year 2007, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
The objective of the present study was to determine the exact type of interaction between AO-294, the less active enantiomer of a novel antiepileptic drug losigamone and valproate, in the model of maximal electroshock-induced convulsions in mice. Isobolographic analysis of obtained data show that the 2 drugs interact additively. This may suggest that AO-294 may be used in the 2-drug therapy of refractory epilepsy. However, it does not seem to be superior to its maternal antiepileptic, since losigamone (according to previous reports) interacted synergistically with valproate.

Differences in diazepam influence on the behaviour of rabbits under spontaneous conditions, and after electrical stimulation of the ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus
The purpose of the present study was to compare the influence of diazepam on different forms of rabbits’ behaviour under stress and spontaneodial hypothalamic nucleus, escape reactionus conditions. The experimental mode...
Metallothioneins and its role in metal regulation, binding of reactive oxygen species, apoptosis and cell differentiation
Metallothioneins (MT) are the widespread proteins in animal world. These proteins are characterized by the low invariability of their structure. The number of aminoacids is fixed in every animal group, that is 60 (or 61...

Lack of association between the development and clinical course of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and rare T130I variant of the HNF4A gene in the Polish population
Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) is a multifactorial disease related to both environmental and genetic factors. While environmental factors leading to the development for T2DM are well established, the majority of factors responsi...
