Abstract
The issues of the formation of soy cultivation as an independent branch of world agriculture in the scientific literature have practically not been covered. Separate historical and socio-economic aspects of the origin of early cultivation of culture are considered in the works of Ukrainian and foreign practitioners and economists, however, there was no deep comprehensive study of the main stages of the formation and development of the soybean cultivating industry in the world context. The purpose of this article is determined by the relevance of this problem and consists in studying the historical aspects of accumulation, systematization of scientific knowledge about cultivation technologies, selection, practical application of soybeans and products of its processing in world practice from the ancient times to the beginning of the 20th century. As a result of the study of the complex history of the origin of the soya culture that is nowadays a unique source of food, technical and fodder products, it succeeded in tracking the main ways of its distribution in the agricultural practice of different continents and countries.
