JERRYMENDING APPLICATION IN ELECTORAL PROCESS IN UKRAINE AND USA

Abstract
Summary In the article we investigated the concept of «jerrimending» as the political technology of electoral process. We analysed jerrimending, the history of its origin and development, we described its possible influence on the final results of elections. We marked out and described the main kinds of jerrimending, we gave an example from election campaigns in Ukraine and USA. We called attention to the main ways how to reveal cutting of electoral districts in the interests of some candidates and political parties. We showed the way how to solve the problem of jerrimending. We elucidated the regulatory adjustment of electoral district cutting in Ukraine. We proposed the way how to improve the technology of their forming.
