Abstract
Categories of traditional morality in the social life of contemporary Mongols The article considers the concept of yos, a relevant aspect of morality in Mongolian traditional way of thinking. While the term has been translated into European languages as a habit or custom, it retains a much broader connotation in Mongolian cultural language. The paper shows, based on ethnological research, that the principles of yos are still of great importance to understand the motives of economic and political behavior of contemporary Mongolians.
