Abstract

Kültepe texts, which have been discovered in the private archives of Assyrian traders, are generally and naturally contain commercial or economic issues. On the other hand, these documents are the main written sources of information about the social, cultural and political aspects of the first historic period of Anatolia. When trading activities of merchants infected badly from some certain political events, which took place in whereabouts, the traders sometimes mentioned about this kind of events mostly in their letters to inform and/or warn their colleagues or relatives. In terms of political events, revolts are the most commonly attested cases in the texts. The document which is being introduced here mentions about a rebellion that took place in the vicinity of Assur. It is clear from the texts, which was discovered in the archive of well-known trader Uṣur-ša-Ištar, this event happened somewhere between the cities of Assur and Qaṭṭara, probably on a date at the end of the IInd level of Kaniš.
