La Fonction identitaire de l’argot dans le rap français de Booba : quand l’insertion de lexèmes anglais participe de l’identité de groupe

Journal Title: Argotica - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 1

Abstract

The Identity Function of Slang in Booba’s French Rap: When the Insertion of English Lexemes Participates to Group Identity In order to deal with the identity function of jargon in Booba’s French rap, we aim to explain why the English lexemes inserted into his rap songs correspond to jargon or slang, and how they pertain to in-group identity. We thus analyse the English substantives linked with the technical lexicon of the rap world and those linked with the slang used by young people in French.
