LABLE SYSTEM IN THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN ACADEMIC DICTIONARY BY A. KRYMSKI AND S. EFREMOV

Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the linguistic labels in the Russian-Ukrainian academic dictionary by A. Krymski and S. Efremov. The purpose of the study is to describe the label system, to compare it with the label systems dictionaries published earlier and later, to establish principles labels applying in the dictionary. Relevance of research conditioned by the fact that during the 20th century the dictionary and it’s label system were not investigated in particular. In our study we use descriptive method. In the Russian-Ukrainian academic dictionary were used stylistic labels and comments. Lable system in the Russian-Ukrainian academic dictionary by A. Krymskiy and S. Yefremov contains 239 units, which include grammatical, lexical, semantic and functional-style. The flaws of the application labels in dictionary is their variability, using various labels of the same content, labels were not used for words that have distinct stylistic coloring. Overall label system in dictionary was a significant achievement for Ukrainian lexicography. It was significantly improved, both quantitatively and content, compared with dictionaries issued earlier. Labels implemented in dictionary allowed distinguish stylistically neutral and stylistically colored lexic. The basic structure of the label system in dictionary later found application in various types of dictionaries. The label system in the Russian-Ukrainian academic dictionary played an important role in the development of label systems in Ukrainian lexicography. The results of our study can be used for a broader analysis of the Russian-Ukrainian dictionaries of the first half of the 20th century and development of labels systems in Ukrainian lexicography.
