Abstract
The article focuses on myth and poetics of the forest in the context of the Bal-lad about the Purple ColourbyWacław Bojarski (1921-1943), one of the representatives of the Generation of Columbuses. Taking Vladimir Toporov's semiotic theory as a starting point, the au-thor analyzes mythical and poeticspace of the forest in the Bojarski's literary work. It is an exceptional text in the writings of Bojarski, since the poet appears here as a "pure lyrist". The forest has a deep symbolic meaning in this poem
