Abstract
Presuming that the purpose of the law is to the greatest extent facilitate the exercise of rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of a person, which is aligned with the human-centric doctrine, the article represents considerations about how the effectiveness of law should be assessed having regard to that purpose. It is substantiated that law is efficient insofar as it sensibly determines the limits of human rights, freedoms and legitimate interests and to the greatest extent facilitates their practical exercise, which is determined on the basis of specific and objectively measurable criteria.
