LAWYER-CLIENT INTERVIEW AS THE INTERACTIVE LEGAL ENGLISH TEACHING TECHNIQUE

Abstract

Nowadays the issue of the latest methodologies and techniques in tertiary education has become extremely topical. Innovations in education, particularly in Professional English teaching, are aimed at solution of problematic situations for optimization of the studying and teaching processes as well as for organization of an advantageous environment for material comprehension and increase in education quality. Therefore, innovative activity is connected with academic and methodological activity of teachers and educational and research activity of students. The key target of modern higher professional education is preparing of a highly qualified individual in the sphere of his or her professional activity and capable of effective work by profession according to the global standards. The communicative approach to foreign language teaching has become popular since the second half of the 20th century. Its peculiarity is the attempt to transform the studying process into the process of live communication. However, the range of methodologies has been constantly under development, which has entailed the emergence of more accomplished pedagogical techniques. The Western educators have offered the interactive method to foreign language teaching that has started to be widely employed in the Legal English teaching process.The article deals with the analysis of lawyer-client interview as one of the interactive Legal English teaching techniques. Ehe author emphasizes the positive influence of english language teaching innovations onto improvement of students’ key communication skills in a foreign language. Lawyer-client interview has been researched in terms of conjunction of the WASP-approach with the instruments of the interactive Legal English teaching approach.
