LE PROCESSUS DE GRAMMATICALISATION DANS L’EFFACEMENT DE L’AGENTIVITÉ. ÉTUDE CONTRASTIVE FRANÇAIS-ESPAGNOL
Journal Title: Studii de Gramatica Contrastiva - Year 2014, Vol 22, Issue 22
Abstract
In this paper we analyze, in two typologically and genetically related languages, French and Spanish, agentivity erasure, conceived, in functional typology framework, as the more or less implicit presence of the agent of an action (which, in the prototypical sentence schema, i.e. the least marked, coincides with the verb subject). Functional approach allows to attain an holistic view of this phenomenon showing, in particular, that agentivity erasure manifests itself in these two languages by means which fall under syntax and lexicon but also morphology, even pragmatics and discourse analysis (in other words, by more or less grammaticalized means that are thus likely to be ordered in a grammaticalization scale).
