LEGAL NATURE OF ACADEMIC FREEDOM

Abstract
The article substantiates a universal, comprehensive approach to the understanding of the legal nature of academic freedom, as one that could serve as a doctrinal basis for normative regulation and legal protection in the field of educational and scientific activities. Academic freedom is understood as the freedom to carry out academic activities, which includes the freedom of teaching, learning and research, is a type of intellectual freedom, has specificity depending on academic roles and contexts etc.
