The purpose of the research is to set out factors influencing lexical innovations creation in the military-political discourse. The purpose of the article requires the necessity in solving further objectives such as: 1) outlining the definition “lexical innovation”; 2) defining the stages of the appearance and consolidation of lexical innovations in the language; 3) selecting the factors that influence lexical innovation creation in the military-political discourse. In the process of the analysis it was clarified that lexical innovations are the words and phrases or new meanings or shades of meaning of the words that appear in the language. It was discovered that lexical innovations pass several stages before they start to belong to the common vocabulary. These stages are: 1) appearing (creation of the word and its spreading through communication); 2) usualization (the word becomes commonly used); 3) acceptability (the word is accepted as general rule); 4) lexicalization or integration (the word acquires individual lexical meaning). The factors that influence lexical innovations creation in the military-political discourse were outlined. They are: uprise of new political figures and/or country leaders; outbreak of new military conflicts and terroristic acts; creation of new terms resulting from technological progress; creation of new words resulting from language development. In the process of the word analysis it was distinguished that quantitatively there are more lexical innovations that were created due to the uprise of new political figures and/or country leaders. It can be explained by the fact that lexical innovations of this group can be used not only in the military-political discourse.
