Functional load of proper names in the novels «Krynychar» and «Vichnyk» by Myroslav Dochynets

Abstract
Modern linguistics tends to the study of the language phenomena through the prism of analysis of work of separate artists. Individual writer’s style, language picture of the world are reflected through the vision of the world by this or that personality. In their works writers use different stylistic devices, language units, emotional background and others. Artistic text carries the imprint of authorial ideas in itself, his inner world and a reader, first of all, pays attention to the vocabulary used by an author. Specific authorial stylistic devices and combinations of different language means form individuality of authorial style. A writer actively uses the techniques of retrospective view, authorial historical insertions, lyric digressions, monologues and dialogues of characters, legends etc. However, the most characteristic means of reflection of space and time is the active use of the proper names and geographical names.The personal life experience of a writer is important for the creation of his own picture of the world as well as a person’s natural abilities, intellectual and spiritual level, peculiarities of psyche. A writer’s world view is important for the formation of his individual style. The writer’s language picture of the world, according to his ideological and artistic position, is condensed into the integral system which is created by language means that are used by an author. A language is an important factor in revealing creative individuality of a writer, where such his properties as creative character, functional orientation, role in the reflection of authorial vision of the world are considered. Analyzing the language of works, it is possible to define the specificity of a word in its individual using and according to this or that situation, to define its use as a means of artistic reflection of reality. For the creation of the certain world, background, with the aim of the influence on a reader authors introduce into their works characters with the names which help embody ideological intention and express the features of an artist’s talent better. The use of proper names in works allows the artist to define clearly the location and time of events, the way of life and characters’ occupation. Traditions, culture, history of a certain nation are expressed through the proper names. Speaking about the proper names that are used by М. Dochynets in his works, it is possible to assert that they accumulate the experience of generations, traditions and culture of the population of Zakarpattia. The proper names of the main characters of the analyzed works are consonant with the names of works – "Krynychar" and "Vichnyk ". They are well-aimed, exact as if they are prompted by the content, writer’s preferences. The proper names play an important role in the works by М. Dochynets, create a special canvas, underline national originality. On the pages of his books the author presents the variety of national groups of the population of Zakarpattia, the circle of communication of the main characters, wide geography of their staying. Due to proper names a reader is plunged into the history of characters’ lives, connections with native places and towns.
