Lignin content in the black liquor from kraft pulping of a select poplar line

Abstract
Lignin content in the black liquor from kraftpulping of a select poplar line.Results of the determination of lignin content in the black liquor derived from the kraft pulping of wood resources show that the lignin content in the liquor is clearly related to the lignin content in the wood of a given kind. Selected, fast-growing poplar varieties were taken for the pulping with birch, beech and pine wood were used as reference samples. The lignin content in the black liquor was also found to depend on both the concentration of the pulping chemicals employed in the digestion process and the wood species examined.
