LINGUACULTURAL TYPE „UKRAINIAN” IN THE RUSSIAN MASS-MEDIA DISCOURSE

Abstract

Purpose. Analysis and description of the linguacultural type „Ukrainian” in the Russian mass-media discourse with the importance of textual representations of facial features, which form stereotypes of Ukrainians in the Russian society. Methodology. The allocation of the major components of the linguacultural type „Ukrainian” – conceptual, figurative and evaluative. Practical value. The results of the research may be useful for cultural linguistics, cognitive linguistics and political linguistics. Results. The analysis of the text-level representations of the Ukrainians let us come to the conclusion that the negative evaluation and stereotypes in the Russian mass-media discourse significantly outweigh the positive one.
