Abstract
Priest Kelestyn Kostetskyi was the dean of the Chernivtsi Dean's Office of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in 1885-1918, and he made a great effort in spreading and strengthening Greek Catholicism in Bukovyna. He sought building and construction of a new Greek Catholic church in Chernivtsi, although World War I prevented the implementation of his plans. He organized a pastoral visit to Bukovyna for Andrei Sheptytsky. He approved new Christian-Ukrainian ceremonies, created societies, and participated in the political life of the region. We believe that contemporary seminarians can learn on the example of the father-dean's life and activity: how to love the Church of Christ, the Ukrainian people, and how to work for their glory and prosperity.
