Abstract
The article contains a historical analysis of the procedural form and content of the protocol of the court session. It is indicated that the record of the court session as a procedural act-document has passed a certain historical development and has now been transformed into a more progressive form of registration using technical methods of information. Fixation by technical means and accurate recording of trial proceedings are necessary for the fair administration of justice, the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens and organizations.
