LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT IN UKRAINE AS THE CONSTITUTIONAL AND LEGAL INSTITUTE

Abstract
The article is devoted to the problems of the study of legal regulation of local self-government in Ukraine. The authors came to the conclusion that the creation of legal principles of local self-government in modern conditions is in the stage of active formation and improvement. Existing norms are largely searchable. They cause a lot of comments from scientists dealing with problems of constitutional and municipal law, because they are not always a guarantee of the independence of the municipal government, are contradictory and not sufficiently precise in order to effectively regulate relations related to the implementation of local self-government. Successful implementation of self-government reform requires further legislative work, in particular legislative provision of extended powers of communities and local self-government bodies that represent them.
