Long-term results of treatment of varycose disease by metod of endovasal laser coagulation
Journal Title: Серце і судини - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 4
Abstract
The aim — to analyse the post‑operative results of treatment of patients with varicose disease after surgery with the endothermal method. Materials and methods. The research analysis covered 129 patients who underwent surgery for varicose disease of the great saphenous vein of C2–C6 class by CEAP for the period from 1.03.2016 to 12.09.2017. The average age of the patients was (43.4 ± 11.2) years. Among patients, women prevailed (76.1 %). CEAP class C2 was diagnosed in 39 (30.2 %) patients, C3 — in 47 (36.3 %) patients, C4 — in 21 (16.3 %) patients, C5 — in 9 (6.9 %) patients, C6 — in 13 (10 3 %) patients. The mean diameter of the great saphenous vein was determined by ultrasonographic examination in the vertical position of the patient. In the middle third part of the thigh, it was 0.9 ± 0.3 cm, in the area of the sapheno‑femoral anastomosis at the confluence of the vena epigastrica superficialis — 1.0 ± 0.2 cm. Results and discussion. The frequency of recanalization of the coagulated vein after 1 year was 4.6 %, recurrence of varicose disease — 8.3 %, skin irritation — 1.8 %, ecchymosis — 0.9 %, erythema — 0.9 %, hyperpigmentation — 1.8 %. Conclusions. The results obtained indicate a high efficiency of the endovasal laser coagulation method. Most of the complications are sporadic and do not significantly affect the overall satisfactory end result: the frequency of recanalization of the vein after one year was 4.6 %.
