LOW FREQUENCY DAMPER
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2009, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
The low frequency damper is an autonomous equipment for damping vibrations with the 1-20Hz range. Its autonomy enables the equipment to be located in various mechanical systems, without requiring special hydraulic installations. The low frequency damper was designed for damping the low frequency oscillations occurring in the circuit controls of the upgraded IAR-99 Aircraft. The low frequency damper is a novelty in the aerospace field ,with applicability in several areas as it can be built up in an appropriate range of dimensions meeting the requirements of different beneficiaries. On this line an equipment able to damp an extended frequency range was performed for damping oscillations in the pipes of the nuclear power plants. This damper, tested in INCAS laboratories matched the requirements of the beneficiary. The low frequency damper is patented – the patent no. 114583C1/2000 is held by INCAS.

Estimation of Wind Tunnel Corrections Using Potential Models
The evaluation of the tunnel correction remains an actual problem, especially for the effect of tunnel walls. Even if the experimental campaign meets the basic similitude criteria (Mach, Reynolds etc.), the wall effect o...
The Evaluation of the Boundary Vorticity by URANS and LES Methods
The role of concentrated vorticity in fluid dynamics phenomena, concerning both the vorticity creation at the boundary and the response to the flow field is not wholly understood. The Lighthill describes the vorticity pr...
Two and Three Dimensional Blood Flow Simulations in Different Types of Blood Vessels
In this paper we present a synthesis of our results obtained on blood flow simulation in different types of blood vessels. We present first some remarks on the wall shear stress (WSS) in the case of a human abdominal aor...
Notes regarding the supply and drain pressure effects on a squeeze film damper
Squeeze film dampers (SFD) are perhaps the most efficient devices that, can be used nowadays to control the shafts in airworthy turbo-compressors. Various other devices can be successfully used in land-based rotating mac...
