<br /> Management of fractures of ceramic heads in total hip arthroplasty patients <br />

Abstract

The authors present the case of an 80-year-old patient operated due to aseptic loosening of the femoral component as a consequence of mechanical incompatibility of the femoral component with the ceramic head of the prosthesis leading to ceramic head fracture.The proposed two-stage treatment permits unrestrained movement on flat surfaces and climbing stairs.
