Management Skills of Teachers in Handling Misdemeanor of Pupils: Basis for Improvement

Abstract
Handling misdemeanour pupils is one of the stressful experience of the teacher as a classroom managers.In this study, the assessing of management skills of teachers in handling misdemeanour of pupils at Kasiglahan Village Elementary School was resolved. The research instrument has three parts: the demographic profile, the managing skills, and the intervention programs and activities. A total of 50 participants joined this study.The managing skills in terms of guidance and counselling, teacher's collaborative effort and implementation of Child Protection Program are acceptable despite of age, sex, and years in service, highest educational attainment and teaching position. However the group of female has a better managing skill in handling misdemeanor pupils in terms of guidance and counseling than the group of male moreover the group of 36 years old and above has a better managing skill in handling misdemeanor pupils in terms of guidance and counseling than the group of 35 years old and below. The result shows that the significant difference in the managing skill of teacher in handling misdemeanor of pupil in terms of collaborative effort according to age, shows that group of 36 years old and above has a better managing skill in handling misdemeanor pupils in terms of collaborative effort than the group of 35 years old and below. This imply that there is a need to conduct a study to identify what intervention in the form of revision of school policy on discipline, assistance ,and management in handling misdemeanour program to alleviate the trouble being experienced.
