Journal Title: Rehabilitacja w Praktyce - Year 2018, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Manual lymphatic drainage is a method based on four fundamental grips according to Vodder, that consists in rhythmic pressure hand movements causing changes in the compressions and relaxation of tissues. Regular application of such procedures increases the transportation capacity of the lymph and supports the development of new, well-functioning collateral lymph vessels. The aim of the paper has been to assess to what extent the application of manual lymphatic drainage reduces the oedema of the injured region in a patient after the fracture of the femur.
