MATERIAL-ENERGY FORMING PRINCIPLES FOR METAL-POLYMER FRICTION PAIRS CHARACTERISATION
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2009, Vol 226, Issue 4
Abstract
The paper presents a new method for increasing of service life of the metal-polymer friction pair. The investigation of the processes occurring in polymer/metal friction pairs proves that the interaction of thin polymer coating with metal surface covered by a coating having other physicochemical properties enables the elimination of numerous drawbacks, thus, significantly reducing the negative consequences of the friction process.

DYNAMIC MODELS OF FRICTION IN THE ANALYSES OF THE TANGENTIAL CONTACT VIBRATION EFFECT ON FRICTION FORCES IN SLIDING MOTION
The explanation of driving force reduction in sliding motion under the influence of longitudinal tangential contact vibrations demands the adequate analyses of friction force changes caused by these vibrations. The resul...
A METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE DISTRIBUTION OF LOADS IN ROLLING PAIRS IN CYCLOIDAL PLANETARY GEAR
The power transmission system in the cycloidal planetary gear is created by a serial connection of three rolling pairs: central cylindrical roller bearings, a set of rolling pins in the straight-line mechanism, and cyclo...
THE EFFECT OF THE FORMATION OF POLYMER /SURFACTANT COMPLEXES ON SELECTED TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF THEIR AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS
Aqueous solutions of sodium alkyl sulphate (surfactant) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (polymer) whose physicochemical properties, including complexing ability, have been widely described in the literature were proposed as a m...
FATIGUE STRENGTH IMPROVEMENT OF STEEL ROLLERS IN CONVEYOR BELTS WHEN USING SHOT PEENING
Numerous factors influence the tribological wear of steel rollers used in conveyor belts. The difficulty in precise determination of these factors results from, among others, a complex and not completely explored wear me...
THE EFFECT OF MeC NANOPARTICLES ON THE MICROMECHANICAL AND TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF CARBON COMPOSITE COATINGS
Nanocomposite carbon coatings composed of a nanocrystalline phase and an amorphous carbon matrix (a-C or a-C:H) are an important group of coatings for tribological applications, especially if low friction is desired. Str...
