Abstract
To decrease maternal mortality is considering as a goal to avoid complications in the current population. This occurs regardless of the time of pregnancy and the time that the new being has brought to the world. As it is public knowledge thousands of women can have that risk, but this can be correct on time and be improve if we know all related factors. Objective:To determine the causes of maternal mortality in the mother-fetus binomial. Methodology: A quantitative approach had used as a method, since it was done with cross-sectional statistics, with a non-experimental design, being of the documentary type and descriptive level, the prevalence of death in 2015 as the sample. Results: It had observed that the greatest cases of death occur at age 21, among the main cause is direct obstetrician with 57,8 % of the cases followed by other diseases with 20.3% of cases. Conclusion: The causes of the socio-cultural environment are factors that condition the life of the mother-fetus binomial. This is due to the mother’s ignorance of future about the complications that can end in death
